Consolidating the assets and debts of an estate
Assets and debts build up as replies come in, with no re-keying. Every amount is shown with the document it came from, and every change to the totals stays dated.
- No re-keying at all
- the amount read on the document is proposed, you only validate it
- Dated history
- every change to the totals is kept, with the document that caused it
- Printable statement
- the very one the heirs see, at any time
How it works
- 01A document arrives, its amount is proposed to you
- 02You validate, the totals and the history update
- 03Mortgage entries are compared with the debts
Every document received updates the totals
A statement arrives, an asset is added. An amortisation schedule arrives, a debt is added. Assets and debts build up as replies come in, without anyone re-keying an amount already printed on a document in the dossier.
With one caveat: what is read on a document sent by an heir enters the totals only once you have looked at the document. Otherwise an erroneous document sent in good faith would move the amounts and trigger letters before anyone had opened it.
- Always editable
- an amount read is a proposal, shown with the document it came from
- Never overwritten
- your correction stays, even if the document is analysed again
The debt falls the day you confirm the insurer is paying
A mortgage is almost always covered by insurance, and Regorus spots it on the contract. It does not deduct it for that: the debt stays counted in full until you confirm that the insurer is paying, and it falls at that point.
So the net estate you announce to the heirs will not be revised downwards later.
| Where the insurance stands | Effect on the debt |
|---|---|
| To qualify | debt counted in full |
| It exists, not yet assessed | debt counted in full |
| Cover refused | debt counted in full |
| Cover confirmed | debt reduced accordingly |
The mortgage register's entries are compared with the dossier's debts
You upload a mortgage register, Regorus reads its entries and compares them with what you have already recorded. The comparison runs both ways: a live entry with no debt against it suggests a debt still to record, and a settled debt whose entry is still there suggests a release to request before a sale or a distribution.
Two simple rules frame that reading. A live entry on a financed property is normal, it is not an anomaly. And when Regorus cannot read a register, it flags nothing rather than alerting you wrongly: the reading failure is ours, not your dossier's.
The history keeps every change, with its date and its cause
Every movement of the totals leaves a dated line, with the document or the entry that caused it. A line is written only if the totals genuinely changed, to the cent: the history tells the story of the estate, not of the practice's activity.
- What is this history for?
- For answering an heir who asks why the amount changed since the last update, and for finding out which document moved what, six months later.
- Can it be printed?
- The statement of the estate prints to PDF at any time, in the exact presentation the heirs see. Nothing beyond what you shared appears in it.
Getting started
- 01Documents arrive, by reply received or heir uploadRegorus, or the practice
- 02Amounts are proposed to you, with the document they came fromRegorus
- 03You validate, you correct, or you enter what is missingthe practice
- 04The totals, the history and the PDF followRegorus
There is nothing to configure for the totals to build up: the documents fill them. Nothing validates itself, however, and that is where the practice's time goes.
“A considerable time saving, thanks to fast structuring and valuation of the estate, enquiry letters and reminders that are tailored and ready to send, and a platform that brings together the information and the progress of each file for the whole team.”

Frequently asked
Can these totals serve as the basis for the tax return?
They gather assets, debts and supporting documents into a dated, printable statement, which is the raw material of the return. The form itself remains to be drawn up: Regorus does not fill it in.
Are automatically read amounts editable?
All of them. An amount read on a document is a proposal, shown with the document it came from. Your correction stays, even if the document is analysed again.
How do you trace where an amount came from?
Every amount is shown with the document it came from, and the history dates each change to the totals and names what caused it. Six months later, you know which document moved what, and when.
Can an asset or a debt be recorded before the document arrives?
Yes, direct entry is there for that, and nothing afterwards distinguishes an entered amount from a read one: both feed the totals, the history and the PDF. The document can arrive later and attach itself.
Do the heirs see these amounts?
Only the ones you published, frozen at their publication date. Their space never reads the dossier's figures as you enter them, precisely so that an amount does not change by itself between two visits.
Totals that build themselves, document by document.
Every document received updates the totals, every amount is shown with its document, and the history keeps a dated trace of each change.
